                               WHO WE ARE

Local Theta alumnae established the Kappa Alpha Theta alumnae club in 1923, and two years later, a charter was granted to form the Dallas Alumnae Chapter on May 1, 1925.  Our group is nationally recognized as one of the most philanthropic Theta alumnae groups in the U.S. with a long - standing tradition of excellence.  With over 650 dues-paying members, we are the largest of the 183 Kappa Alpha Theta Alumnae chapters.

"If you look closely, the center of the pansy looks like a heart, and the Dallas Alumnae Chapter truly is the heart of the pansy.", Wendy Goshert, Foundation President.

2006 Grand Convention - Honored with the Golden Kite Award (one of seven), the highest award given to alumnae chapters.

2004 Grand Convention

Our chapter was the recipient of the Best Alumnae Chapter Programming / Education Award and the initial Theta for a Lifetime Award.  Below are the remarks read by Debbie Allen (Fraternity Vice President Alumnae) as she present the first Theta for a Lifetime Award to the Dallas Alumnae Chapter:

We are also pleased to present the Theta for a Lifetime Award.  The Theta for a Lifetime Award recognizes a chapter that continually exceeds all expectations of alumnae chapters.

"During the process to select the alumnae award winners this Convention, one alumnae chapter was always on or near the top of each award category.  This is a chapter that increased their membership 14%, in spite of the fact that they are already a large chapter.  They offer a multitude of programs, events and education for their members, successfully completed two large signature fundraisers each year and gave time and monetary support to multiple college chapters and the KAO Foundation.  But there was something else that stood out about this chapter during the past biennium.  It was that they were a group that truly lived, "Theta for a Lifetime".  This was evident by their cooperative spirit and willingness to do what was in the best interest of the Fraternity and their sisters, especially the past two years.  It is for all these reasons that the alumnae committee wanted to give special recognition to this chapter by presenting the Theta for a Lifetime Award to the Dallas Alumnae Chapter."
