PHILANTHROPY

The Dallas Alumnae Chapter is nationally recognized as one of the most philanthropic Kappa Alpha Theta alumnae groups in the U.S.  At the 2006 Grand Convention, we were recognized as the second highest cumulative donor to the Kappa Alpha Theta Foundation.  Our chapter has been honored as one of the top two donors to the National Fraternity Foundation.  In 2007, we donated $54,990 to the Foundation, an impressive amount by any standard but even more impressive because $25,000 was unrestricted.

Fundraising

CASA, Court Appointed Special Advocates, Kappa Alpha Theta's national philanthropy, is the focus of our fundraising efforts.

Over the last four years, our fundraisers have raised over $300,000 for Dallas CASA and Kappa Alpha Theta Foundation Scholarships.  In the past, the Chapter has held 25 annual Charity Designer Showhouses that raised over $1 million for Kappa Alpha Theta charities and local CASA organizations.   For several years, the Casitas for CASA and Casino for CASA dinner and auction events replaced the designer showhouse concept.  Currently, our Festival of Trees is the signature event that raises funds for our charities.  In 2006, this included raising a record $85,000!
